Job Description: The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, products, and services for the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of market trends, a keen eye for quality, and excellent negotiation skills. The Buyer will work closely with vendors, suppliers, and other team members to ensure that procurement goals are met and that the company's supply chain is efficient and cost-effective. Key Responsibilities: - Source and evaluate suppliers and vendors based on quality, price, and reliability - Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms - Create and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery of products and services - Monitor market trends and pricing to make informed decisions about sourcing and purchasing - Collaborate with internal teams to identify procurement needs and develop purchasing strategies - Prepare and submit purchase orders to vendors, track and expedite orders as necessary - Communicate with stakeholders to provide updates on purchasing activities and resolve any issues that may arise National Diploma Supply Chain/Logistics/Purchasing CIPS and others would be an advantage Matric Drivers Licence would be an advantage 2-3 Years purchasing experience with an excellent understanding of products/ services and the costing thereof. Tasks: Purchase materials, equipment and related services, and general office supplies. Order Management: - Management of P-2-P transactions; - Exception management. Non-catalogue order execution (free text); - ID of late orders, price & quantity variances Ensure overall management of Request for Quote process (e.g. Obtain quotes, Evaluate & Award) Manage Purchase Requests - Train on purchasing procedures and assist end users in initiating requisitions. Resolve all purchasing issues between requester and vendors.
