Buyer - Construction Industry

RPO Recruitments client, a well-established construction company based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town is seeking an experienced Construction Buyer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and commercially minded individual with strong procurement experience within the building construction sector. Key Responsibilities: Procure materials, plant, and services in line with project requirements Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing Manage supplier relationships and ensure timely delivery of materials Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with project timelines Monitor stock levels and coordinate with site teams to ensure uninterrupted workflow Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures Track costs and assist with budget control and cost-saving initiatives Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation Requirements: Minimum 5 years experience as a Buyer within the building construction industry Relevant qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or similar Strong knowledge of construction materials and supplier networks Proven negotiation and cost management skills Proficient in MS Office and procurement systems Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Benefits: Salary: Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications Contact RPO Recruitment for our next career opportunity.
