Chemical Engineer

A reputable industrial company is seeking an experienced Chemical Engineer to join their operations in Middelburg, Mpumalanga . The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and improving chemical processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and sustainability. This role requires strong technical expertise, analytical ability, and a proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes and systems to improve operational efficiency and product quality. Conduct research and feasibility studies for new processes, materials, and technologies. Monitor production operations, troubleshoot process issues, and identify areas for improvement. Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, quality, production, and safety departments. Analyze process data and prepare technical reports, documentation, and improvement recommendations. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and sustainability. Requirements: Bachelors degree (or higher) in Chemical Engineering or a related field. Proven experience in a chemical engineering role within an industrial or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of chemical process design, thermodynamics, and reaction engineering. Familiarity with process simulation tools such as Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD, or MATLAB (advantageous). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Strong attention to detail, safety-conscious mindset, and ability to work effectively within a team.
