Junior Structural Engineer

Our Structural Engineering Firm A19 Consulting Engineers, is looking to appoint a Junior to mid-level Structural Engineer to perform the design, detailing and inspections for various projects at our Somerset West Office . To fulfil the responsibilities of this role, you are expected to be detail-oriented, creative, and possess problem-solving skills, display an investigative nature and must be accurate, commercially aware, and have great communication skills. This is a collaborative position that will allow the Engineer to learn from those around them while also getting a chance to work autonomously on projects from concept to completion. Experience with AutoCAD, or similar computer-aided design software. Experience with BIM (building information modelling) software, such as Revit and Prokon is a plus. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Structural Engineer Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in structural design and detailing of various structures (Steel, Concrete, Masonry and Timber). · Create technical drawings and project specifications. · Liaise with professionals such as architects, specialist engineers, clients and contractors. · Perform site inspections of structural elements.
