Civils Buyer

We are looking for a Civils Buyer to join our team! This role involves sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, equipment, and subcontractor services for construction projects while balancing cost, quality, and timelines Strategic Sourcing & Purchasing: Identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers for construction materials and equipment. Contract Negotiation & Management: Negotiating terms and conditions, issuing purchase orders, and managing subcontractor agreements. Compliance & Technical Review: Ensuring all procured materials meet technical specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards. Budgeting & Cost Control: Developing procurement schedules, analyzing market price fluctuations, and managing budgets to avoid cost overruns. Inventory & Logistics Management: Overseeing the site stores department, ensuring timely delivery, and reconciling stock (e.g., Build Smart). Collaboration: Working with site agents, project managers, and finance teams to determine needs and align procurement with construction schedules. Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. Experience: 3 years in procurement within the construction or civil engineering industry. Technical Knowledge: Understanding of construction materials, technical drawings, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs). Software Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Build Smart). Contract Knowledge: Familiarity with contracting frameworks like FIDIC, NEC, or GCC. Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
