Group Accountant

Company: Divercity Position: Group Accountant We are seeking a technically strong and detail-oriented Group Accountant to join the Group Finance team at Divercity. The Group Accountant will take responsibility for the full financial accounting function of allocated group entities, supporting Divercitys growing property portfolio through accurate financial reporting, budgeting, taxation compliance, statutory financial statement preparation, and audit coordination. The ideal candidate will have completed articles, possess solid post-articles financial accounting experience, and demonstrate strong technical knowledge of corporate tax, and statutory compliance. Responsibilities: Maintain full accounting records, including journals, reconciliations, and month-end processes Prepare monthly management reports and analyze financial performance Draft annual financial statements in line with statutory requirements Manage corporate tax compliance, including tax computations, ITR14 submissions, deferred tax calculations, and SARS correspondence Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes and perform variance analysis Coordinate the annual external audit process and prepare supporting documentation Support group banking administration and ensure compliance with internal controls Contribute to continuous improvement of financial systems and processes Qualifications & Experience: BCom Accounting (or similar) Completed articles (required) 35 years post-articles financial accounting experience Strong knowledge of corporate taxation Experience with accounting software and advanced Excel skills Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and technically capable individual to join a dynamic and growing organization.
