Gas Technician

The above vacancy exists at our Technical department, Kempton Park, reporting to the Technician Supervisor. Suitably qualified candidates who meet the requirements of this role are invited to apply for this vacancy. The Technician will be responsible for performing required installation and maintenance activities on operational sites effectively, efficiently and safely. Key areas of responsibility for this role include but are not limited to: 1. Responsible for maintenance activities as directed; 2. Reporting on maintenance, project and safety activities performed; 3. Assisting with the required safety and departmental systems; 4. Compliance with required Safety systems and protocols within APSAP and customer sites. 1.A Matric certificate with Maths and Science or N3 qualification with technical subjects; 2. A completed NTC2/3 qualification; 3. Must be a Red Seal Trade Tested Artisan (preferably a Millwright or Fitter); 4. Registered SACGA-accredited Gas Installer; 5. Must have 3 - 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance work in an gas environment; 6. Experience with cryogenic gases (advantageous); 7. Must have good verbal and written communication skills; 8. Medically fit to work with heights; 9. Computer literate and proficient in the MS Office Suite; 10. A valid unendorsed code 08 drivers licence; 11. Willingness to work shifts and overtime as required; 12. Must be willing to be on standby on weekends and public holidays; 13. Must be willing to travel extensively as and when required.
