Merchandise Planner Head Office | Cape Town An exciting opportunity has become available at our Head Office in Cape Town within the Outdoor Department for an experienced Merchandise Planner . The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical, numerical and logical reasoning skills, with the ability to align to the company vision. This role requires a selfmotivated individual who actively contributes to the planning process and thrives in a fastpaced, dynamic retail environment. High energy, resilience and confidence are essential for success in this role. Key Duties and Responsibilities Contribute to the achievement of Turnover, Gross Profit (GP), Stock budgets and other key performance indicators (KPIs) Conduct postseasonal analysis and support strategic, replenishment, range and assortment planning Perform budgeting and forecasting to maximize sales and profitability Manage stock control and distribution , ensuring optimal product assortments, volumes, and store/product attributes Raise purchase orders and submit order consolidations Liaise effectively with stores, suppliers, customers, shipping and marketing teams Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications Minimum of 5 years experience as a Merchandise Planner Previous experience in apparel planning or a replenishmentfocused category is essential Matric and a relevant tertiary qualification Strong Microsoft Office proficiency Experience using reporting systems Proficiency in Enterprise Planning systems JobRelated Competencies Passion for keeping up to date with product and market trends Excellent written and verbal English communication skills Strong numerical, analytical and logical problemsolving abilities A welldeveloped commercial, merchant and trading mindset Collaborative team player with strategic and forwardthinking capability Strong planning, organizing, administrative and coordination skills Ability to work independently, demonstrate selfleadership and use initiative Methodical, detailorientated and highly accurate Deadlinedriven and outcomes focused Resilient and tenacious in a pressurized, fastpaced and everchanging environment Effective conflict resolution skills Ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels of the organization Demonstrates a strong eagerness to learn Employment Equity The Cape Union Mart Group is committed to transformation.
