Hydraulic Estimator

Brief Description of Key Performance Areas When equipment, to be repaired, is stripped, compile a list of requirements and a cost estimate. For repair and new jobs, prepare time, cost, material and labor estimates. Consult with employees in other departments to discuss and formulate final estimates Prepare estimates for use by Sub-conntractors. Confer with Engineers, TSRs and Sub-contractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. Based on estimates do planning, organizing, and scheduling of work. Prepare cost and other necessary documentation as required in order to do cost monitoring and reporting. Keep filing system for these records up to date. Conduct evaluations to develop standard rate data and determine possible cost reductions. Communicate job status to Management and Internal Customers. Effectively ensure full compliance to the SHEQ Management System. Minimum Skills and Knowledge Required Matric certificate Qualified trade (preferable red seal) 2 years practical experience in relevant trade preferable Able to read mechanical drawings Experience in workshop systems Knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic equipment 3-5 years experience as an Estimator or similar Behavioural Dimensions Required Motivated individual and team player Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Must be self driven, deadline orientated with the ability to work under pressure Able to multi-task and to prioritise work loads Attention to detail and high level of accuracy Creative thinker and problem solver Must be willing to mentor Junior personnel Good negotiation and analytic skills Good working knowledge of MS Office
