Job Description
Plan, coordinate, and manage daily on-site construction activities for sewer refurbishment and water maintenance projects Supervise site staff, subcontractors, and labour teams to ensure productivity and quality workmanship Ensure all work is executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and municipal standards Monitor project progress against programme schedules and report deviations timeously Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) requirements Coordinate materials, plant, and equipment to avoid delays and cost overruns Conduct site meetings and liaise with engineers, project managers, and municipal representatives Inspect completed works and manage snag lists and remedial actions Maintain accurate site records, including daily site diaries, progress reports, and timesheets Assist with measurement, valuation of works, and certification where required Identify risks on site and implement corrective and preventative measures Ensure proper housekeeping and security of the construction site at all times National Diploma or higher qualification in Civil Engineering (minimum requirement) Minimum of 5 years relevant experience as a Site Agent or in a similar supervisory role Proven experience in sewer refurbishment and/or water maintenance infrastructure projects Sound knowledge of municipal construction standards , specifications, and contract requirements Ability to read, interpret, and implement civil engineering drawings and specifications Strong understanding of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) regulations Demonstrated leadership and people-management skills Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities Good communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with engineers, clients, and subcontractors Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines SACPCMP registration (advantageous) Experience on municipal or government infrastructure projects Experience with contract forms such as JBCC, GCC, or FIDIC Computer literacy (MS Office and basic project reporting tools) Valid drivers licence (essential)
