Project Engineer

We are recruiting on behalf of one of our leading Independent Power Producer (IPP) clients, who is seeking a highly driven and technically strong Project Engineer to join their dynamic team in Johannesburg. This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale solar PV projects, contributing to the successful delivery of projects across South Africas renewable energy landscape. Key Responsibilities: Provide engineering support across the full project lifecycle, from design and development to construction and commissioning Review and coordinate technical designs, ensuring compliance with standards, specifications, and project requirements Oversee and manage technical interfaces between EPCs, contractors, and internal teams Assist with grid connection studies and liaise with relevant stakeholders Monitor site progress, attend site inspections, and support construction quality assurance Contribute to project schedules, risk management, technical documentation, and reporting BEng / BSc in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field 37 years experience in engineering roles within the renewable energy sector Proven experience working on utility-scale solar PV projects Substation experience (design, interface management, or construction) is a strong advantage Strong understanding of project delivery processes within IPP or EPC environments Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
