Wastewater Engineer

A client of ours, an established engineering consultancy is seeking a skilled Wastewater Engineer to join their Cape Town office. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional with strong technical expertise in wastewater infrastructure and treatment processes to contribute to impactful municipal and environmental projects. Key Responsibilities Design of wastewater and related civil engineering infrastructure Preparation of engineering reports and contract documentation Contract administration and site-based involvement Project management of multidisciplinary wastewater projects Support with Green Drop and Blue Drop compliance processes Travel and site work as required, sometimes on short notice Ideal Candidate Profile Valid drivers licence Able to work independently and within a collaborative team Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfortable working in both office and field environments Detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality technical outputs Minimum Qualifications BSc / BEng / BTech in Civil Engineering Registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer/Technologist, or close to registration A Masters in Water and Wastewater Treatment Processes is advantageous Candidates with a BSc/BEng in Chemical Engineering will also be considered if they have appropriate wastewater design and project management experience Experience Requirements 310 years post-graduation experience in wastewater infrastructure design and contract administration Solid understanding of wastewater treatment processes and municipal infrastructure Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and Microsoft Office (including advanced Excel, Word, and MS Project) Strong project management experience will be beneficial Must be able to provide contactable, traceable references
