Role Overview The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the Fixed Asset Register, processing cashbooks, and providing support with Accounts Payable and other finance-related activities. Key Responsibilities Ensure that all fixed asset related movements are timeously and accurately processed. Monthly update of the fixed asset register. Monthly review of depreciation calculations. Ensure that any profits or losses on disposal of assets are accurately recorded. Preparation of month-end financed asset journals. Management of annual useful life and residual value review process. Monthly update and distribution of capex spend schedules. Conduct quarterly asset impairment review with business. Liaise with external and internal auditors with respect to any deliverables or queries with respect to fixed assets. Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end reports. Perform monthly reasonability tests to ensure that all transactions are valid and complete. Process daily cashbooks. Prepare daily and monthly bank reconciliations. Prepare monthly cash clearing Reconciliation. Reconciling Inter-company Accounts. Prepare Supplier recons Performance of various adhoc activities to support the finance department in achieving its reporting objectives, including, but not limited to: Process requested correcting / adjusting journal entries. Perform any investigations requested by the Team Leader or Financial Managers. Prepare any adhoc reports as requested by Finance Managers. Preparation of any schedules required as part of the year-end audit process. Assisting the Team Leader in ensuring that all deadlines and reporting requirements are met timeously. About You Bachelor of Commerce Degree / National Diploma in Accounting 3-5 Years experience in a Finance role Intermediate / Advanced level of excel skills Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to ensure accuracy in financial records and transactions. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems Previous working experience in retail/ financial services would be advantageous.
