Head – Data Management and Engineering

Seeking an experienced Head of Data Management and Engineering to lead the design and implementation of our clients enterprise-wide data strategy. This senior leadership role drives data quality, governance, and engineering excellence to enable data-driven innovation across the group. Key Responsibilities Define and implement data management and engineering strategies aligned to the DAMA framework. Oversee data collection, storage, governance, and integration across multiple systems. Lead teams delivering scalable, secure, and reusable data solutions (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Hive, etc.). Partner with Group IT, Data Science, and divisional leaders to operationalise analytics and machine learning. Drive data maturity, stakeholder collaboration, and continuous improvement. Manage budgets, resources, and performance within the Data Management and Engineering functions. Key Requirements Honours/Masters/PhD in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field . 8 years experience in Data Engineering and Management leadership. Proven experience with distributed data systems (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.) and SQL. Strong background in Data Governance, Architecture, and Cloud environments.
