Electrical Engineer

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading Independent Power Producer (IPP) seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a key technical role within a fast-growing renewable energy environment, contributing to the development, design, and delivery of large-scale energy projects across South Africa. Key Responsibilities: Provide electrical engineering support across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage development through to construction and commissioning Lead or support the design review of electrical systems for utility-scale solar PV, BESS, and other renewable energy projects Coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants, grid specialists, and internal teams to ensure technical alignment Assist with grid connection studies, network impact assessments, and compliance with NERSA/ESKOM standards Oversee quality assurance, site inspections, and technical troubleshooting during construction Prepare and review technical documentation, specifications, and engineering reports BEng/BSc in Electrical Engineering (Degree essential) 5 years experience in the renewable energy sector Proven experience working with IPP clients or within an IPP environment Strong understanding of electrical design principles for utility-scale solar PV and/or BESS Experience with grid compliance and substation interface management advantageous Excellent communication, coordination, and analytical skills Willingness to travel when required
