Job Description

We are looking a Bo okkeeper to manage the business's daily financial transactions and maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records. This role is vital for tracking cash flow and generating the foundational data used for financial reporting and tax purposes. Key Responsibilities Recording Financial Transactions : Documenting all income and expenses, purchases, sales revenue, invoices, and payments in the appropriate ledgers. Accounts Payable and Receivable : Managing the end-to-end process of vendor invoices and tracking customer payments and outstanding debts. Bank Reconciliation : Comparing the company's financial records (general ledger) with bank and credit card statements to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies. Payroll Processing : Calculating employee wages, deductions, and taxes, and ensuring timely payment and compliance with relevant regulations. Financial Reporting : Preparing basic financial reports and summaries, such as balance sheets, income statements (profit and loss), and cash flow statements for management review and decision-making. Compliance and Documentation : Ensuring all financial actions comply with local, state, and federal legal requirements and maintaining an organized filing system for all financial documents and records. Assisting Accountants : Collaborating with external accountants or auditors, often by bringing the books to the trial balance stage, for year-end reporting and tax filings. Required Skills and Qualifications Technical Skills : Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, MYOB). Strong Microsoft Excel and data entry skills. Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices (like double-entry bookkeeping). Soft Skills : Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time management skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with teams and clients. Problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve discrepancies. A high school diploma is typically required, while an associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is often preferred. Relevant professional certifications, such as a Certified Bookkeeper (CB) designation, can also be advantageous.
