Job Title: IT Field & Support Engineer (PC & Networks) Location: Vanderbijlpark Department: Management Information Systems (MIS) Reports to: MIS Operations Manager Are you a dynamic and enthusiastic IT professional with a passion for hands-on problem-solving? Air Products is seeking a dedicated IT Field & Support Engineer to join our Vanderbijlpark team. This role is perfect for someone who is eager to roll up their sleeves, provide excellent 1st line support, and become a crucial part of our technology operations. Overview & Key Responsibilities This role is the primary point of contact for all 1st line IT support, requiring a blend of technical skills, customer service, and a proactive, "can-do" attitude. You will be responsible for ensuring our hardware, software, and network systems run smoothly, providing support both remotely and in person across our facilities. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing 1st Line support for Hardware, Software, Desktops, Laptops, Printers, and core systems (Microsoft AD, Exchange Online, Citrix, Cisco/Fortinet Networks, Telephony). Mobile Device Management and 3G/VPN Support. Providing 1st Line Security Support and basic administration. Offering backup support to Senior Network/Server Engineers and the Service Desk. Performing hands-on troubleshooting and support in the field, directly with end-users. Ensuring compliance with all information security policies, governance, and facility safety procedures. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for a young, dynamic, and highly motivated individual who is: Enthusiastic about IT with a particular passion for networks and hands-on technical work. A quick learner, eager to acquire new skills and technologies. Customer-focused and enjoys solving problems in person. A reliable team player who can also work independently. Essential Requirements Reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver's license are mandatory. Matric with Mathematics. A Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent. A and N Certifications are mandatory. MCSE / MS ITP Certification is essential. ITIL Foundation Certification is advantageous. 4 to 6 years of practical experience in a similar IT support role, including: Support for Windows OS and MS Office suites (including Office 365). Administrative support for Windows Server (20082022), Active Directory, Exchange Online, Telephony, and Cisco/Fortinet Networks. Proficiency in: MS SQL, MS Access, MS Visio, MS Projects, MS Office, various email platforms, web browsers, and JD Edwards.
