Job Description
Responsible to provide strategic specialised research and produce evidence-based recommendations, develop and implement research plans, research projects, ensure the quality and integrity of research outputs, and foster collaborations with stakeholders. Key Performance Areas : Conduct high quality evidence-based qualitative and quantitative Research and Recommendations. Lead the research special projects to support the achievement of FFCs strategic objectives. Develop, review and implement the Research governance documents. Research Risk Management Governance and Compliance Lead and manage research activities related to public finance, ensuring high-quality, accurate, and timely research outputs. Identify issues, problems and key focus areas in the relevant research areas. Formulate and present proposed plans for Commission approval. Conduct evidence based and quality research related to FFC statutory obligations, as directed. Manage the implementation and integration of the research Strategy and Policy. Provide input for policy and strategic planning requirements of research within the Commission. Develop and implement relevant research policy guidelines and directives. Develop and produce intelligence reports. Develop Submissions and responses to Stakeholder requests. Conducting evidence based and quality research on Special Projects. Provide budget analysis and input on economic issues. Present findings to FFC research to internal and external stakeholders as required. Participate in research working groups and round-tables, seminars, conferences and discussion forums. Provide professional and technical support in the compilation of research statutory documents. Provide recommendations for the review, maintenance and improved efficiency of Research governance documents. Coordinate and manage the approved FFC Recommendations programme. Coordinate and conduct quality checks regarding research responses to ad hoc requests by Stakeholders Develop and implement standards for professional research methods, writing style, research paper formats, and research ethics. Qualifications : Masters degree in Economics, Public Finance or a related field. Experience : Ten years applied research experience in the public finance or economic environments. Experience in Econometric and macro-economic modelling experience. Experience in Project management. Understanding of fiscal frameworks, budget planning, and financial management tools. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate complex research into actionable insights. Proven track record of successful research projects and publications. Strong understanding of research methodologies and principles. Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. Ability to think strategically and drive innovation. 5 years work experience in research/analysis, project formulations, implementation, reviews and evaluations, quantitative analysis and modelling within a Public Finance/ Public Policy environment.
