Shift Type:

Rotating 12-hour shifts (36 hours/week): Day 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (3x12), Night 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (3x12). Rotating schedule includes weekdays and some weekends (Saturday/Sunday for day shifts; Friday/Saturday for night shifts). Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule block. No on-call required.

Roles & Responsibilities Provide advanced cardiac intensive care to critically ill adult patients with cardiac, vascular, and thoracic diagnoses Monitor and manage invasive hemodynamics including Swan-Ganz/PA lines and titrate vasoactive drips Manage ventilated patients, perform ventilator adjustments, and interpret ABGs Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias and lead emergency cardiovascular interventions as needed Perform and manage mechanical circulatory support devices such as IABP, Impella, LVAD, and care for ECMO patients when indicated Administer procedural sedation, blood products, and continuous IV sedation/paralytics safely and accurately Document thoroughly in Epic and communicate care plans clearly across the interdisciplinary team Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed and support unit staffing and patient flow

Qualifications BLS required and ACLS required 2 years of Cardiac ICU/CVICU experience preferred Epic experience required for charting and documentation Proven IV start, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz/PA line monitoring, and conscious sedation skills Experience with balloon pumps and post-cardiac surgery care preferred Previous travel experience preferred and ability to adapt to rotating schedules Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-acuity cardiovascular ICU and floating between units when needed

Knowledge & Skills Care and monitoring of ECMO, IABP, Impella, and VAD patients TAVR and CABG postoperative care and management CRRT/CVVHD management and renal support knowledge Hemodynamic monitoring, interpretation of ABGs, and titration of vasoactive medications Chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and ventilator troubleshooting Cardiac rhythm interpretation, 12-lead ECG acquisition, and dysrhythmia management Infection prevention, central/PICC line care, blood product administration, and phlebotomy skills Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation skills within Epic
