We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who thrives in a busy workspace and is well-versed in working directly with senior management. As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our accounting department, ensuring that all financial operations are executed accurately and legally, and driving our financial planning. You will also be tasked with developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances
Ensure all financial operations comply with federal and state laws
Develop and implement systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information
Work closely with the financial management team to create budgets and financial forecasts
Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities
Oversee the preparation of all financial reports
Monitor the financial performance of the company
Implement policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency
Coordinate with tax accountants to ensure compliance and accurate and timely tax returns
Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained
Provide leadership and support to accounts receivable and accounts payable departments
Manage the company's financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred
CPA or CMA certification is strongly preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles
Understanding of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
Working knowledge of MSFT Office (especially Excel) and accounting software
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven strategic planning experience at the management level
Able to work comfortably under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
