Local Contract Position: IMC - Nurse Manager, Emergency Department Location: Brooklyn, NY. Pay Rate: $75/hr Schedule: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Duties: -Oversight and direction for the emergency department, and accountability for planning, directing, leading and evaluating nursing care within the department. -Foster an environment of collaboration and respect with all other healthcare team members. -24-hour responsibility for overall assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. -Develops long-term unit staffing schedules and ensures adequate daily coverage in accordance with established staffing needs. -Promote and support a collaborative team approach in providing care for all ED and trauma patients. -Approach others in a tactful manner and treat others with respect and consideration. -Support and interpret policies, procedures, and objectives of the hospital. -Educates staff in new and existing department procedures and systems (eg. Information systems, etc.) -Creates and maintains an atmosphere of respect and courtesy toward patients, staff and colleagues. -Maintains required competencies for self and all employees within the department. -Participates in a professional organization.

Requirements: -Minimum of 5 years nursing experience of management and/or supervisory in the Emergency Department. -Master's Degree in Nursing. -BLS, ACLS, & PALS Preferred. -Demonstrates leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. -Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing. -Excellent creative skills, ideas to improve existing programs. -Ability to determine appropriate action in complex situations. -Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling work. -Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner. -Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner. -Services, processes, ideas that have an impact on this job and the department.
