WATER PLANT OPERATOR

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the routine operation, maintenance, and repair of wells, pumps, motors, chemical feed systems, and related equipment that support the City's water system. The role includes monitoring water pressure and chemical levels, collecting samples, maintaining records and reports, performing equipment inspections and minor repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The position requires a high school diploma (with coursework in chemistry or math), mechanical aptitude, and basic knowledge of water treatment processes. Working conditions involve both indoor and outdoor work, physical labor, and exposure to chemicals and high voltage equipment.
