Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced
Senior Scheduler
to join their team in Columbus, OH. This on-site role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and controlling detailed construction schedules while collaborating closely with project teams and stakeholders. The Senior Scheduler will play a critical role in identifying schedule risks, analyzing project performance, and driving schedule efficiency across complex construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development, integration, and maintenance of comprehensive CPM schedules using Primavera P6 and other industry-standard tools
Collaborate with project executives, project managers, trade partners, and technical teams to define activity sequencing, logic, durations, and resource or cost loading as required
Establish schedule baselines, manage updates, analyze variances, and forecast critical and near-critical path impacts
Perform proactive delay analysis, schedule risk assessments, and recommend mitigation or recovery strategies
Coordinate schedule integration across design, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams
Prepare and present clear, data-driven progress reports, dashboards, and schedule status updates to leadership
Support change management by evaluating schedule impacts related to RFIs, submittals, design changes, and change orders
Facilitate Lean scheduling practices, including Pull Planning, Look-Ahead Planning, and Last Planner System™ activities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field
Minimum
5+ years
of experience as a scheduler on large, complex construction or industrial projects
Expert-level proficiency with
Primavera P6 (required) ; experience with MS Project and Procore preferred
Strong understanding of CPM scheduling concepts, including float management, resource and cost loading, baseline development, and critical path analysis
Demonstrated experience in schedule controls, variance analysis, forecasting, and Time Impact Analysis (TIA)
Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, sequencing, and interpretation of technical drawings
Ability to manage schedules for multimillion-dollar projects and complex operating environments
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications such as
PMI-SP, PMI-PMP, PMI-CP, AACEI PSP, or CCP
Experience with schedule risk analysis techniques, including Monte Carlo simulations
Familiarity with Lean Construction practices and collaborative planning methods
Working knowledge of BIM/VDC and 4D scheduling integration
Advanced reporting and analytics skills using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools
