Senior Project Manager – Telecommunications & Integrated Systems (Baltimore, Maryland, United States)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (SPM) to lead the delivery of complex, high-value telecommunications and integrated low-voltage systems projects across healthcare, commercial, data center, and mission-critical environments throughout the Baltimore region.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing multiple large-scale projects and Project Managers simultaneously, ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, and long-term client satisfaction.
Approximately 70% of the portfolio is healthcare-focused, including life-safety critical systems such as nurse call and telemetry. Healthcare experience is highly desirable but not required for candidates with strong experience delivering complex integrated systems.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing union field teams and delivering multi-system low-voltage projects in technically demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Project Leadership
Oversee multiple concurrent telecommunications and integrated systems projects.
Provide leadership and mentorship to Project Managers and field leadership.
Drive overall project strategy from pre-construction through closeout.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Maintain accountability for overall portfolio financial performance.
Financial Oversight & Risk Management
Maintain full P&L responsibility across assigned projects.
Review and approve budgets, forecasts, and cost-to-complete projections.
Manage change order strategy and contract risk mitigation.
Ensure accurate billing, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
Identify and mitigate schedule, cost, and scope risks proactively.
Technical Scope Leadership
Core systems may include:
Structured cabling (CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A)
Fiber optic backbone & horizontal distribution
Nurse call systems (healthcare)
Telemetry systems
Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)
Access control and CCTV systems
Audio/visual systems
Integrated building technology platforms
The SPM must have strong cross-system knowledge and the ability to oversee highly integrated installations.
Client & Executive-Level Coordination
Serve as senior point of contact for clients and general contractors.
Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
Lead executive-level progress meetings and reporting.
Coordinate with ownership groups and stakeholders on complex projects.
Support business development efforts where applicable.
Operational & Union Leadership
Lead union field teams and collaborate with field superintendents.
Drive manpower planning and labor productivity strategies.
Maintain safety and quality standards across all projects.
Ensure compliance with NEC, TIA/EIA, BICSI standards, and AHJ requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
10–15+ years of experience in low-voltage / telecommunications construction.
5+ years in a senior-level Project Manager role.
Experience overseeing multiple PMs and projects simultaneously.
Proven experience delivering complex, high-value projects.
Strong financial acumen with demonstrated P&L responsibility.
Experience in union construction environments.
Advanced knowledge of structured cabling and integrated systems.
Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and related tools.
Preferred:
BICSI (RCDD or Technician) certification.
OSHA 30 certification.
Healthcare experience (nurse call, telemetry, life-safety systems).
Data center or mission-critical systems experience.
Experience managing large campus or hospital deployments.
