Summary The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering engineering projects within a meat/protein processing manufacturing environment. This role owns projects from initial concept through final implementation, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, operational, and business objectives. The position partners closely with plant leadership to translate strategic priorities into executable capital projects that improve reliability, throughput, and efficiency. Success in this role requires strong leadership, technical competence, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities Own assigned projects from concept through commissioning and closeout Define project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and risk mitigation plans Coordinate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams Manage capital budgets, forecasts, and cost controls Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and internal engineering standards Promote a strong safety culture throughout design, construction, and startup phases Source, evaluate, and manage contractors, vendors, and equipment suppliers Lead process improvements, plant modernization initiatives, and automation upgrades Track project performance metrics and communicate progress to leadership Conduct post-project reviews and drive continuous improvement

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred 5+ years of engineering project management experience in manufacturing environments Demonstrated success delivering projects end-to-end Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills Proficiency with project management tools and documentation Experience in food manufacturing or regulated environments preferred PMP or similar certification preferred Up to 30% travel
