Works Under The Supervision Of The Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator. The Registered Nurse (Rn) Assesses, Plans, Implements, Evaluates And Supervises Individual Patient Care On A Nursing Unit/Department According To Unit Policies And Procedures. Provides Supervision Of Non-Rn Personnel On The Assigned Unit. When Assuming The Charge Role, Delegates And Supervises Unit Activities. May Be Requires To Work On Other Nursing Units According To Distribution Of Staff And Patients. Performs Other Duties As Assigned Or Requested In Order To Maintain A High Level Of Service.

NP 11
: Hematology Oncology Bone Marrow Transplant- A specialty unit that provides care to the most acute patients diagnosed with hematologic disorders (blood cancers) including Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Multiple Myeloma. Our team provides state of the art treatment for these diseases including complex chemotherapy and biotherapy regimens, Hematopoietic Stem Cell and Bone Marrow Transplant, CART cell therapy and numerous clinical trials.
NP 12 :
Adult Medical Oncology- A specialty medical oncology unit where a multidisciplinary approach is used to care for patients with solid tumor malignancies as well as hematology oncology overflow patients. There is focused attention on the administration of chemotherapy & biotherapy, management of oncologic emergencies, and providing supportive care for disease & treatment related complications.
ECC :
Oncology Extended Care Clinic- A unique hybrid urgent care unit that provides triage, evaluation, and treatment for oncology patients in an ED-like setting. Oncology patients with any primary diagnosis are referred to this clinic for a wide variety of complications, including neutropenic fever, nausea/vomiting, pain, failure to thrive, electrolyte abnormalities, shortness of breath. Patients have a full diagnostic workup completed, are treated accordingly and either discharged home or bridged to an inpatient admission.
NP 14 :
Women's Oncology - A specialty oncology unit that cares for a diverse population of patients, the largest population comprised of gynecology oncology patients through diagnosis, surgery, chemotherapy and biotherapy treatment, side effect and symptom management, palliative and hospice care. We also care for hematology oncology patients while receiving elective chemotherapy and radiation oncology patients, both populations inclusive of males. We care for breast post mastectomy and flap reconstruction patients after their highly specialized microvascular surgery.
NP 15 : Surgical Oncology -A post-surgical unit dedicated to diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of cancer. Our unit has multiple service lines including head and neck, thoracic, surgical oncology, urology, and endocrine patients. The unit is equipped with telemetry monitoring allowing us to closely monitor for post-operative complications. Our goal is to provide supportive care for our patients including pain management, nutritional needs, rehabilitation, and post-operative education.
Smilow East 4-7 :
Sickle Cell/Medical Oncology -A specialty unit that provides care primarily to the Sickle Cell Disease patient population as well as the Medical Oncology population who have solid tumor malignancies. The unit is equipped with telemetry monitoring allowing us to closely monitor the above patient populations. There is focused attention on management of sickle cell crisis/ pain control, oncologic emergencies and providing supportive care for disease & treatment related complications.

Plans For Education After Assessing The Individual Learning Needs And Readiness Of The Patient And Family. Provides Educational Opportunities And Documents Outcomes.
Functions As A Preceptor To New Staff.
Functions As A Charge Nurse.
Meets Performance Expectations For Customer Service, Teamwork, Resource Utilization, And Staff And Self Development As Outlined In Performance Review.
Performs Other Duties As Assigned Or Directed To Ensure Smooth Operation Of The Department/Unit.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
Graduate Of An Accredited School Of Nursing; BSN Preferred. Proficient In Use Of Computer Software To Include Electronic Patient Records. Must Have Ability To Use Internet For Literature Searches Regarding Care For Patients.
