JOB SUMMARY:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise and manage nursing staff on your shift - ensuring care delivery meets facility standards and regulatory requirements.
Perform or oversee resident assessments, monitor health status, and respond to changes in condition; coordinate with physicians and care team as needed.
Ensure documentation accuracy and compliance - including resident records, care plans, incident reports, regulatory compliance paperwork, and shift handoffs.
Oversee admissions, transfers, and discharges as assigned; coordinate with appropriate departments to ensure smooth transitions of care.
Provide direct nursing care when necessary (medications, treatments, IVs, specimen collection, etc.), especially during staffing shortages or emergencies.
Mentor and support assigned staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs), provide guidance, and act as point of contact for staff and resident/family issues.
Ensure unit compliance with facility policies, state/federal regulations, safety and infection-control standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid, unrestricted RN license in Connecticut.
Minimum experience working as an RN in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment; supervisory or charge-nurse experience preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to assess resident needs, coordinate care, respond to changes in condition, and make sound clinical judgments.
Dependable, with good attendance and ability to work collaboratively as part of a care team.
