We are seeking an
Operations Maintenance Manager
to oversee operations at our
Critical Resource Accelerator , which includes both the analytical laboratory and the bench/pilot testing facility. This role emphasizes mechanical equipment maintenance, safety standards, and effective operational processes, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. The Operations Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining equipment reliability and creating a culture of safety that safeguards employees while supporting operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
Technical Oversight and Equipment Maintenance
Ensure all laboratory and pilot testing equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning to support analytical testing and experimental operations.
Utilize hands-on mechanical skills to troubleshoot, repair, and optimize bench and pilot-scale testing equipment for maximum efficiency and reliability.
Collaborate with the R&D team to support testing and validation of new analytical methods and technologies, ensuring all equipment is suitable for their application.
Operational Management
Oversee daily operations of both the analytical laboratory and bench/pilot testing facility, ensuring efficient workflow and resource allocation.
Collaborate with the Technical Lead to develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) that guarantee consistency and quality across all processes in both environments.
Monitor performance metrics and operational efficiency, making data-driven decisions to enhance productivity in laboratory testing and pilot-scale operations.
Safety Implementation and Compliance
Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive safety processes and protocols for the laboratory and testing facility.
Champion a culture of safety by conducting regular safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
Create safety training programs tailored to the specific equipment and processes in both the laboratory and pilot testing environments, ensuring all staff are well-informed and compliant.
Monitor adherence to safety regulations and standards, continuously evaluating and improving safety practices to mitigate risks.
Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related matters, addressing concerns and fostering an environment where safety is prioritized.
Team Leadership
Supervise and mentor laboratory and testing facility staff, providing guidance on best practices, performance expectations, and professional development.
Foster a collaborative work environment, encouraging open communication and teamwork among all staff members.
Act as a leader within the office, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Data Management and Reporting
Ensure accurate and timely recording of laboratory and testing data and results in compliance with company standards.
Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Maintain organized and secure data storage systems for laboratory and pilot testing records and results.
What You Bring
Proven experience in an operations management role with a strong focus on mechanical maintenance within an industrial site and/or pilot testing environment.
Hands-on mechanical competency with bench and pilot-scale testing equipment, including troubleshooting and repair expertise.
Strong understanding of laboratory safety regulations, industry safety competencies, and extensive experience creating and implementing safety processes related to equipment.
Familiarity with compliance standards and relevant regulatory certifications (e.g., ISO, OSHA) applicable to laboratory and testing operations.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and foster collaboration.
