Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for an experienced Teacher for the Visually Impaired to provide specialized educational support to K-12 students in a Louisiana public school setting. The position is full-time and contract-based, supporting students with visual impairments across multiple schools within the district. This role requires an active Louisiana Department of Education teaching certification specific to the visually impaired and a readiness to begin as soon as possible. Key Qualifications: Active Louisiana DOE certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) is required. Experience working with visually impaired students across K-12 grade levels. Ability to manage a caseload and provide individualized educational support. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with educators, families, and support staff. Location: Schools located in New Orleans, LA, within Jefferson Parish School District. Position requires working onsite full time, Monday through Friday, following the school calendar. Responsibilities: Deliver tailored instruction and interventions to visually impaired students. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs). Collaborate with classroom teachers and ancillary staff to ensure accessibility. Monitor student progress and update educational plans accordingly.
