Overview:

Full-Time Position Monday-Friday 11pm-7:00pm

The primary purpose of this position is to provide clinical oversight, coordination, organization, and timely procurement of specialty materials, supplies, instrumentation and equipment for the various areas within Perioperative Services. Under the direction of the Perioperative Supply Supervisor, the Perioperative Clinical Supply Tech is the departmental's clinical resource for the acquisition of supplies, services and equipment, inventory par levels and inventory control. This position is the primary liaison with vendor representatives for purchased, leased, and trial supplies and equipment for Perioperative Services, working closely and in collaboration with Supply Chain Services, Perioperative Administration, and the Perioperative Staff and Physicians Qualifications:

Required Education:

HS Diploma/GED and Vocational Training. Specific course work: Graduate of surgical technologist program

Preferred Education:

Certified Surgical Technologist

Required Licensure/Certifications:

BLS from American Heart Association Certification from NCCT or National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) within 6 months of date of hire or transfer.

Preferred Licensure/Certifications:

N/A

Required Experience:

1-2 years surgical scrub experience as a surgical technologist -AND- 1-2 years of supply chain or relevant office environment experience.

Preferred Experience:

3-5 years surgical scrub experience as a surgical technologist

Necessary Skills: 1. Must possess manual dexterity, computer skills, and be able to work under pressure. 2. Effective oral and written communication skills. 3. Must be able to read, spell and do simple math, write clearly and understand written and oral instructions. 4. Need to have effective computer skills, including typing, and use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc) 5. Strong working knowledge of patient care and basic human needs throughout the life span. 6. In depth knowledge of medical terminology. 7. Strong working knowledge of acute and chronic disease processes. 8. Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all members of the healthcare team 9. Demonstrates a willingness to learn new methods, procedures and techniques resulting from departmental or organization change. 10. Adapts quickly and easily to change and adjusted behavior and approach to work when necessary to achieve goals
