36 or 48 hours per week; 1:2 patient ratio; weekend shifts as needed; 72 hours orientation; flexible scheduling Highlights: High-acuity cardiothoracic and vascular ICU experience with complex patient populations including post-op open hearts, CABG, aortic aneurysm repair, cardiac arrest, and multisystem organ dysfunction Advanced critical care skills required including ECMO, CRRT, IABP, Impella, Swan-Ganz monitoring, arterial lines, and bedside surgical procedures Level I Trauma Center with 554 staffed beds, 12-bed CTVICU; teaching hospital environment with comprehensive interdisciplinary support Cerner EMR system; modern equipment including Phillips monitors, hemosphere, ultrasound, Glidescope, and Arctic Sun Minimum 10-week contract; guaranteed 36 or 48 hours per week with facility call-off limited to 3 times per 13-week assignment First-time travelers welcome; pending license accepted at time of submission Requirements: Active RN license (New Mexico license may be pending at submission) Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience; CVICU experience strongly preferred Current ACLS and BLS certifications required (RQI certifications not accepted) Experience with 1:2 patient ratios in critical care settings Proficiency with advanced cardiac interventions: ECMO, CRRT, IABP, Impella, Swan-Ganz catheters, arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes Competency in managing post-operative cardiac surgery patients, cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, ventilated patients, and hemodynamic monitoring Willingness to float within scope to other ICUs, PCU floors, ED for admitted patients, and PACU as needed Must reside outside 100-mile radius from facility; valid non-local driver's license required COVID-19 vaccination required with exemptions accepted; flu vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only Ability to complete compliance documentation by deadline (10 days prior to start) Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to work in a premier Level I Trauma and Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, caring for some of the most critically ill cardiothoracic and vascular patients.
