Assistant Plant Manager (Ogden)

** This is a manufacturing environment and an on-site role. This position is open due to a retirement and has a projected 1.5-2 year timeline to promotion into a Plant Manager position. **

Compensation Target: -140-160K base -15% quarterly cash bonus

Keys to the role: - Metal Fabrication or machining experience preferred (Castings or casting repair experience is ideal) - Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing experience required; Six Sigma Certification strongly preferred. - Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in Industrial, Mechanical, or a related engineering field

Position Summary: The Assistant Plant Manager will have responsibility, manage and coordinate daily organizational activities, to include but not limited to: Operations, Maintenance, Manufacturing, etc. The Superintendent must ensure the achievement of production requirements, quality and reliability standards, and on-time delivery at the lowest cost.

Essential Functions: Responsible for safely manufacturing a quality product while meeting customer specifications and delivery commitments. Ensure adherence to process control procedures, operating instructions, and all quality control instructions. Control quality, delivery, cost of production, work-in-process levels, and monitor production through planning. Recommend and purchase new equipment for expansion, efficiency, cost reductions, and quality improvement. Provide input on the design and installation of equipment for new manufacturing processes. Ensure EHS rules are always followed by every employee in the departments. Manage operational metrics, including TOC, variable cost, and productivity targets on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

Experience & Education: Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in Industrial, Mechanical, or a related engineering field, or 10+ years experience in manufacturing setting. MS or MBA degree is desirable. Prefer 7+ years of experience in manufacturing. Investment Casting Experience strongly preferred. Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing experience required; Six Sigma Certification strongly preferred.
