Job Title: Product Manager – Medical Segment
Reports To: Global Director of Product Management
Location: Downers Grove, IL or Remote
Job Purpose
The Product Manager for the Medical business segment assumes ownership of the entire product portfolio, driving growth and profitability by overseeing every aspect of the product life cycle—from initial concept through to product delivery. This high-visibility role directly shapes the business’s direction and strategy by managing product performance, engaging with key accounts, and leading the introduction of new products. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting market research to identify evolving customer needs and industry trends, collaborating closely with engineering teams to define product specifications and ensure alignment with technical requirements, and developing comprehensive go-to-market plans for product launches. The Product Manager also works cross-functionally to create and deliver compelling sales and marketing presentations, maintain competitive product evaluations, and provide market intelligence that informs long-term strategy. Additional key deliverables involve defining target markets, positioning, messaging, and value propositions, as well as creating and maintaining pricing structures and cost models.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Oversee the Medical products’ lifecycle, including P&L accountability and profitable growth.
· Develop and manage product strategy and roadmaps to support expansion goals.
· Lead market research to identify opportunities and support sales and marketing initiatives.
· Provide technical expertise in developing sales materials and presentations.
· Evaluate competitive products and deliver market intelligence on trends.
· Serve as primary customer contact for product-related issues, collaborating with quality teams.
· Define target markets, positioning, messaging, and value propositions through market analysis.
· Build business cases for new products, including financial and market assessments.
· Maintain pricing structures, strategies, and cost models.
· Create and update marketing content and website information.
· Provide product training and tools to the sales team.
· Gather and analyze market data, ensuring actionable follow-up.
· Manage sales quotes and maintain a current opportunity pipeline.
· Generate management reports as required.
· Promote Amphenol products and assist with application-specific projects.
· Control expenses in line with business objectives and standards.
· Adhere to company policies and procedures.
· Travel to customers, manufacturing sites, and training sessions as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
· Educational Background: Possess a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
· Professional Experience: Demonstrate five (5) to ten (10) years of relevant experience and/or training in Product Management or equivalent technical/commercial role, specifically pertaining to Medical Devices, preferably involving fiber optics, technical knowledge of Tier industry players, and different Medical applications to deploy fiber solutions
· Technical Proficiency: Exhibit a robust technical understanding of fiber optics, connectors, as a subject matter expert. Capable of effectively conveying technical information to customers with credibility.
· Materials and Techniques: Have knowledge of medical applications, laser types, trends, and installation techniques, knowledge of fiber optical cable assemblies to this segment.
· Industry Association Engagement: A plus us to show engagement and experience collaborating with industry associations such as BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Service International), ISE (Institute of Sustainable Energy), SCTE (Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers), and others.
· Equivalent Qualifications: Consideration will be given to candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Technical Tools Proficiency: Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite, AI Tools (ChatGPT, others), Windows Desktop, web browsers, and other relevant software tools.
· Self-Motivation: Possess the ability to work autonomously, consistently performing duties to the company's high standards.

Working Conditions
70% of the time sitting; 30% of the time standing or walking. Direct contact with clients, managers, and employees. Daily, weekly, and monthly objectives will change dynamically based on business needs and opportunities. Travel is required based on company needs. Must be open to occasional evening work/weekends.
