IT Lead Product Owner
for a
6-month contract job
with a client in
Findlay, OH.
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to join the Natural Gas & NGL Services Digital Products Line. The Product Owner will own and drive the execution of value chain optimization and digital products development. This role sits at the intersection of operational strategy, commercial execution, data analytics, and enterprise software and requires translation of complex midstream and upstream business problems into scalable product solutions. The ideal candidate brings deep domain expertise in natural gas and NGL markets, a strong command of value chain optimization concepts, and a track record of leading high-impact 0 to 1 product initiatives.
Pay Rate Range: $60/hr-$65/hr;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
The Product Manager is expected to be an expert in the Natural Gas & NGL business and technology capabilities
Demonstrate breadth across modern digital technologies to enable effective product ownership
work closely with system and solution architects on leading/solving complex technical problems and aligning those to business outcomes
work across product line and business unit/org boundaries to lead delivery of solutions spanning large value chains
lead large epic delivery across multiple product teams inside and outside of the NG&NGL product line
manage a product line backlog consisting of Epics & Features, many requiring collaboration and dependency to enabling team
work with Agile coaches and Scrum Masters to manage complex issues, risks, and dependencies impeding solution delivery
act as a thought leader, collaborating with key leadership to identify opportunities to improve the flow of value delivery
Key Responsibilities
Develops customer and internal-facing product development strategies with superior user experience across multiple verticals, including vision goals and customer needs; accountable for complex/critical product and/or product lines, up to an entire portfolio of products.
Has accountability for leading the development of product roadmaps, prioritizing feature releases, and aligning them with business objectives. Drives cross-functional collaboration to gather insights, prioritize initiatives, and plan releases effectively.
Collaborates closely with portfolio teams, stakeholders, and business leaders to proactively identify and address challenges that arise during product development, ensuring the successful execution of the product strategy.
Engages senior cross-functional leaders and proactively addresses and resolves issues, fostering effective communication and promoting alignment between business and operations teams, UX design, product, engineering, analytics, and customer support teams.
Organizes stakeholder priorities and works with teams to align needs with resources, ensuring cadence with customer value, business value, and strategic fit. Consults with leadership and various teams to provide value-driven priority and strategic decision-making.
Prioritizes the product backlog, processes, and release plan for multiple features for a complex or higher profile product and plans the coordination of interdependencies with scrum teams and across lines of business.
Works with other teams, ensuring the team is aligned around similar goals and objectives / cross-team prioritization. Carries out ongoing analysis of product capability themes to support product direction.
Delivers product innovation, definition, deliverables planning (roadmap), and design of entirely new products to deliver against team and company goals.
Interprets and communicates product development, builds on cross-departmental knowledge, and puts the customer at the heart of all product changes.
Engages senior cross-functional leaders and proactively addresses and resolves issues, fostering effective communication and promoting alignment between business and operations teams, UX design, product, engineering, marketing, analytics, and customer support teams, as needed.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a technology-related field required.
Product Owner certification or Product Management certification required.
7+ years of relevant Product Owner or Product Manager experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with gas nominations, pipeline scheduling, or NGL fractionation and marketing workflows
Exposure to trading, risk management, or commercial optimization in a midstream or integrated energy company
Background in data science, engineering, or economics as it pertains to energy systems
MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field (engineering, computer science)
