As such, we are looking for a candidate to fulfill the role of Export Operations Customer Service.
The role of Export Operations Customer Service primarily focuses on North American air freight and ocean exports to domestic and international destinations. This operational role requires the individual to collaborate with internal and external clients, vendors, CFS warehouses, terminals, and carriers. Candidates should be familiar with US export regulations (AES/TSA) and have experience with air freight rating. A successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be a savvy problem-solver.
Reports To: Export Manager
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational execution for a global shipment lifecycle:
Arrange pick-ups, tracking, and tracking to ensure no delay
Submit bookings to airlines or ocean carriers
Coordinate air freight or ocean consolidations if applicable
Filing AES
Documentation Review (MAWB/HAWB and MBL/HBL)
Monitor Shipment Status
Submission of Pre-Alert to agents
Final invoice and closeout of shipment
Ability to utilize software to calculate air freight rate quotations
Apply industry knowledge to resolve customer challenges and understand key air carrier trade lanes
Collaboration across internal departments, agents, and vendors.
Provide excellent customer service and serve as operations POC for assigned accounts
SOP maintenance in collaboration with the Export Manager.
Ensuring data integrity within FMS CW1 Cargowise
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1-3 years of air and ocean freight operations experience
Basic proficiency in supply chain concepts and processes (i.e., incoterms, international supply chain, and/or procurement)
Experience with client-facing customer service operations
Prior TSA security exposure
Must successfully apply and receive STA# upon hiring
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior working experience in the freight forwarding industry
Air Freight consolidation experience
HAZ Experience
Cargowise certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting. Activities include extended periods of sitting while working at a computer and occasional fast-paced operations and events.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and co-workers. Regular use of the telephone, virtual meetings, and e-mail for communication. Hearing, vision, and speaking within normal ranges are essential for normal conversations, receiving ordinary information, and preparing or inspecting documents.
Good manual dexterity with common office equipment, including computers, calculators, and copiers.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to grasp, handle, or feel; and operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone keypad.
