Job Description
Technical: embedded systems, electronics, and/or firmware
(current or previous technical experience or understanding is needed)
Summary of Work:
The Technical Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering technology-focused projects on schedule and within defined scope and budget. This role serves as a critical link between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment between technical execution and organizational objectives. This role provides project management leadership, facilitates cross-functional collaboration, and acts as the primary conduit to technical resources throughout the project lifecycle.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the coordination of planning, execution, and delivery of system-level technical programs. The role emphasizes execution visibility, cross-functional alignment, and proactive risk management rather than ownership of technical decisions or requirements.
Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, milestones, and dependency tracking based on approved scope, requirements, and technical inputs provided by Systems Engineering and Product Management. This role does not own system-level technical decisions, requirements definition, or design trade-offs.
Ensure data accuracy and transparency by relying on timely and accurate reporting from Engineering, QA, and cross-functional teams. Maintain integrity of project information within the designated project management system and communicate updates effectively.
Coordinate activities across Systems Engineering, Hardware, Firmware, QA, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Product teams to support successful execution. Identify risks, issues, and dependency conflicts early, and escalate appropriately to Systems Engineering leadership for resolution.
Prepare and deliver clear status reports, risk assessments, and execution forecasts to stakeholders and leadership. Ensure that any changes to scope, priorities, or timelines are reviewed and formally approved by appropriate stakeholders rather than implemented independently.
Support resource planning and workload visibility in partnership with functional managers. Track key deliverables—including engineering outputs, testing progress, and documentation milestones—to ensure readiness for design reviews, product releases, and production activities.
Maintain accurate and accessible project documentation, decisions, and execution artifacts, while recognizing that ownership of technical documentation content and quality remains with the appropriate technical teams.
Coordinate internal training initiatives by identifying training needs, aligning content with Engineering and Product inputs, and ensuring effective delivery to teams such as Service, Manufacturing, Product Management, and Sales to support product readiness and adoption.
