The
Maintenance Manager
is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and transformation of the maintenance functions. This role ensures optimum operational efficiency, equipment reliability, food safety compliance, and asset stewardship while aligning maintenance strategy with Furmano Foods’ operational and financial objectives. The Maintenance Manager will lead the transition from a reactive maintenance model to a planned, preventive, predictive, and asset-focused operating system that reduces downtime, improves preventive maintenance compliance, strengthens food safety protections, and supports sustainable profitability.
Leadership & Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Provide leadership and oversight for the Maintenance Group.
Support the development and implementation of capital projects.
Develop and mentor maintenance supervisors, leads, and technicians.
Establish clear asset ownership across operational areas.
Build succession planning and develop replacement personnel for key roles.
Provide visible leadership across all shifts.
Support the VP of Operations in implementing best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strategic & Operational Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a facility-wide maintenance strategy aligned with operational objectives.
Improve preventive maintenance (PM) compliance and effectiveness (target ≥95%).
Implement and expand predictive maintenance programs.
Lead root cause analysis for recurring equipment failures.
Reduce unplanned downtime and emergency maintenance work.
Partner cross-functionally to align maintenance priorities.
Develop and manage departmental budgets and KPIs.
Food Safety & Regulatory Responsibility:
Ensure maintenance practices protect food safety and regulatory compliance.
Maintain compliance with GMP, OSHA, and environmental standards.
Ensure proper safety procedures and records are maintained.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience.
Minimum five (5) years maintenance leadership experience required. Minimum two (2) years project management experience required.
Experience in manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred).
Experience with CMMS systems and KPI reporting required.

Physical Requirements:
Lifting /Pushing/Pulling: Up to 50+ lbs. frequently; carts exceeding 100 lbs.
Standing /Walking: Frequent to continuous during shifts.
Climbing: Frequent, including stairs and ladders.
Manual Dexterity: Required for operating and adjusting equipment.
Ability to safely reach the top of pallets for stretch wrapping

1st Shift
This position typically follows the hours of the shift scheduled to work; however, working days may vary based on season.
Typically, Monday through Friday. Very often Saturday. Longer Shifts may be required during busy times.
