Food Bank Driver

POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES: The Community Needs Bank Driver will play a crucial role in supporting the successful implementation of RETAIL RESCUE supporting the Nikki Schwartz Memorial Community Needs Bank Food Pantry Network. This position will be responsible for ensuring the safe and timely transportation of food from Nassau County retail grocery stores assigned by Island Harvest. Rescued food will be brought to the SJJCC and also redistributed to local pantries and soup kitchens as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Safe Transportation · Safely operate and maintain the assigned vehicle in compliance with all traffic laws and organization policies. · Ensures food safety during transport. · Project Support · Pick up and deliver rescued food from the identified stores per the project schedule. · Collaborate with Grocery Store personnel to assist in pick up scheduling. · Vehicle Maintenance · Conduct routine inspections to ensure the vehicle’s proper functioning. · Report any mechanical issues promptly and coordinate repairs. · Compliance and Record Keeping · Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant information. · Complete logbooks and reports as required. · Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including licensing, and safety standards Compensation details: 21-23 Hourly Wage PI1bb26bf347c4-25448-40006015
