Amazing and growing, woman-owned law firm in Birmingham, MI is looking for a paralegal to support the partners. Responsibilities

Organize, review, and maintain due diligence documents, including lease agreements, easement agreements, and management contracts. Analyze and review title insurance commitments, policies, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance. Examine surveys and plat maps to identify and address legal descriptions, easements, and encroachments. Collect, organize, and verify lender and title company requirements, such as entity formation documents, litigation searches, and bankruptcy records. Prepare and update title and survey memoranda, including drafting objection letters during various transaction stages. Conduct research on city, county, and state regulations relevant to real estate transactions and summarize findings. Draft and edit a variety of legal documents, including deeds, contracts, estoppel certificates, and non-disturbance agreements. Coordinate with title companies and surveyors to place orders, address comments, and procure proforma title insurance policies. Assist in preparing closing documents such as transfer affidavits, ownerโ€™s affidavits, and closing packages for dissemination to attorneys and clients. Engage with external entities, including clients, government agencies, and other law firms, to gather necessary information for transactions.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on commercial real estate. Strong knowledge of real estate transactions, including title insurance, surveys, and due diligence processes. Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents such as contracts, deeds, and estoppel certificates. Ability to analyze and summarize complex legal and regulatory information. Experience coordinating with title companies, surveyors, and other external stakeholders. Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail. Proficiency in legal research and familiarity with relevant legal software tools. Experience amending documents in LARA
