Commercial Maintenance Technician | Leading Commercial Services Firm
We’re hiring a
Commercial Maintenance Technician
to support a major commercial services provider in
Reston, VA . If you have hands-on building maintenance experience—carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or general repairs—this role offers a chance to work across multiple customer sites while representing a company known for quality and reliability.
What You’ll Do:
·Perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on commercial buildings, equipment, and grounds
·Deliver high-quality service directly to customers while maintaining professional on-site relationships
·Use carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, HVAC, and general maintenance skills to solve facility issues
·Handle minor plumbing tasks (unclog toilets/urinals, replace valves & fixtures, maintain sensor systems)
·Complete drywall repairs, painting, touch-ups, and general building restoration to maintain “like new” facility standards
·Conduct minor electrical work within state guidelines (replace switches, outlets, fixtures, bulbs, ballasts, sockets)
·Perform routine facility inspections and asset condition checks
·Travel between customer locations using a company-provided vehicle and tools
·Utilize a tablet/smartphone to manage work orders, document work, submit reports, upload inspection images, and log expenses/time
·Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams to ensure satisfaction and timely updates
·Attend required safety/compliance training and weekly safety meetings
·Provide estimates for larger maintenance projects when needed
·Support additional operational and building maintenance tasks as assigned
What You Bring:
·HS diploma or technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in trades such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Landscaping, or Specialty Floor Care
·2–5 years of general building maintenance experience
·Experience in commercial facilities strongly preferred
·Valid driver’s license and any applicable trade certifications
·Ability to read and follow safety policies, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions
·Strong communication and report‑writing skills
·Comfort using handheld devices, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Outlook, and digital work-order systems
·Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general mechanical systems
·Ability to perform repairs, emergency response, and preventive maintenance safely and efficiently
·Commitment to OSHA and company safety practices
·Willingness to travel daily between customer properties
