About the Role The
Clinical Training Director
plays a key leadership role in ensuring high-quality, safe, and compassionate care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position is ideal for a nurse who enjoys
educating others

This role is
primarily focused on training and education , with some
hands-on clinical involvement

Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver clinical trainings for staff and community members
(e.g., medication administration, health-related topics, specialized care supports)
Ensure staff are competent, confident, and compliant with clinical requirements
Provide clinical oversight and consultation to residential and program teams
Participate in limited direct patient care to support complex medical needs
Collaborate with leadership to improve systems, training processes, and outcomes
Stay current on best practices, regulations, and clinical standards

Classification:

Full-time, salary, exempt ($58,000/ year)

Minimum hours: 8am-4pm Monday thru Thursday with on-call week every 4-6 weeks

Must maintain driver standards per insurance and State requirements

Must pass background checks in accordance with company policy and State regulations

Has the ability to multitask, is clean and organized, and has a fine attention to detail

Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

Must be able to lift at least 50lbs

Must be able to stand, walk, climb, kneel, stoop, bend, crouch, reach, grasp, pinch, and twist

Must be able to drive company vehicle and operate wheelchair lift, including the loading and unloading of passengers
Certifications/ Education:

Must be at least 21 years of age

Must possess valid Colorado Driver’s license

Must successfully complete Core In-Service Training and on-going training as required (training provided by employer)

Must maintain CPR/First Aid certification and status as a certified CPR/First Aid Instructor

Must possess and maintain a nursing license (LPN, RN) in Colorado

Must communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
Job duties:
-
Spends approximately 60% of time supervising and training Direct Support Professionals and Direct Support Supervisors.
-
Ensures agency policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
-
Ensures agency mission and core values are incorporated into the everyday actions of employees.
-
Completes facility monitoring visits as scheduled, and ensures necessary follow-up is completed.
-
Attends and participates in meetings as scheduled.
-
Attends and participates in Performance Evaluation meetings including making recommendations for hiring/firing.
-
Ensures timely and accurate communication with the management team.
-
Maintains confidentiality in the homes and the office.
-
Ensures the health and safety needs of all persons in services are met in a timely manner.
-
Ensures all applicable state and federal rules and regulations are met and enforced.
-
Completes on-call duties as assigned.
-
Provides direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
-
Reports changes in client’s condition or family situation to Executive Director.
-
Ensures training curriculum and materials meet all State and agency requirements.
-
Maintains in-service records on all employees and independent contractors to document completion and compliance.
-
Develops and disburses monthly training calendar.
-
Schedules, notifies, and ensures completion of staff and independent contractor’s annual in-service requirements.
-
Develops and schedules monthly in-service training on a variety of subjects.
-
Provides in-home, on-site, monitoring and training.
-
Coordinates Core Inservice training alongside the Director of Quality Enhancement.
-
Develops and implements protocols as needed and ensures staff proficiency.
-
Serves as liaison between this agency and the pharmacy to ensure procurement of medications.
