System Architect (Cincinnati)

On Line Design is currently looking for a Systems Architecture professional, ideally in the greater Cincinnati, OH area, that has a strong understanding of operational intelligence and logistics to aide a customer deliverable. This project is expected to run for 6–9 months. You’ll need to be on‑site as needed at the start for onboarding and training, and after that the role will transition to fully remote. Our customer is entering a structural growth phase with volume that is accelerating, and the organization must ensure that its operating discipline is codified, portable, and platform-independent. In this role, you will extract and formalize the customer’s decision logic into durable architecture, reducing vendor dependency and preparing the organization for sustained 15M+ throughput and multi-client dispatch capability.

Responsibilities: Codify Operating Discipline by Document tacit dispatch and allocation decision logic. You will help to define structured decision frameworks for things like triage, fleet vs volunteer allocation, load size prioritization, operational risks, etc.

Define and Develop Canonical Data Architecture designing a platform-agnostic operational data model, map current system dependencies (FRH, Salesforce, Bloomerang, others), and identify entanglement risks and portability gaps.

Establish Vendor Independence Roadmap that helps to assess platform risk exposure, define abstraction strategy separating operating logic from interface layer, and outline migration contingencies.

Dispatch as a “Service Lab” allowing for the identification of structural inefficiencies before adding staffing, recommend automation opportunities grounded in architecture, and define measurable performance guardrails.

Dispatch as a Service Readiness Assessment that defines service-level standards and identify scalability constraints before expansions.

Experience/Qualifications: Competency in data, operations, logistics, or logistics systems Prior experience working with logistics Strong communication skills with the ability to speak with leadership and peers
