Production Supervisor – Precision Assembly

Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading Enova Illumination’s day-to-day assembly operations. This role focuses on supervising production staff, maintaining consistent product quality, and ensuring reliable order fulfillment.
Unlike large-scale automated manufacturing, Enova’s products are precision-assembled medical devices requiring careful handling, attention to detail, and familiarity with magnification and lighting equipment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on manufacturing leadership experience and preferably direct experience in surgical lighting, optical devices, or magnification systems.
This is a working leadership role. The individual will spend significant time on the production floor supporting operators, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring products are built correctly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Production Supervision
Directly supervise assembly technicians and production staff.
Coordinate daily work assignments and priorities.
Ensure production orders are completed accurately and on time.
Monitor workflow and address production delays in real time.
Support operators when questions or technical issues arise.
Product Knowledge & Assembly Support
Learn and understand assembly of headlights, batteries, cables, and loupes.
Assist with complex or sensitive builds when needed.
Troubleshoot assembly challenges and variability.
Verify correct component usage and build methods.
Help maintain consistent assembly quality across all operators.
Quality & Compliance
Follow Enova’s Quality Management System procedures.
Ensure work instructions and training requirements are followed.
Support investigations of nonconformances and rework.
Reinforce careful handling and inspection practices.
Maintain accurate production documentation and records.
Team Leadership
Train and coach new and existing operators.
Establish expectations for workmanship, organization, and accountability.
Monitor attendance, performance, and productivity.
Promote a respectful and professional team environment.
Identify cross-training opportunities.
Coordination & Communication
Work closely with Quality and Engineering when product or documentation changes occur.
Communicate material shortages or issues to Supply Chain.
Provide production status updates to Operations leadership.
Support internal and external audits as needed.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of manufacturing or assembly leadership experience.
Experience supervising or leading production employees.
Strong attention to detail and organization.
Ability to read and follow technical work instructions.
Comfortable working directly on a production floor.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with magnification devices, surgical lighting, optical equipment, or electronics assembly.
Medical device, dental, or optical industry experience.
Small-team manufacturing environment experience.
Experience training operators or technicians.
