A leading Am Law firm seeks a Senior Commercial & Financial Services Litigation Attorney (8+ years) in New York. Lead complex federal and state court matters involving CMBS, distressed real estate, lender liability, and bankruptcy litigation (NY Bar required).

This is a high-level litigation role within a nationally respected platform known for sophisticated work and a strong culture. The practice group handles complex commercial disputes, secured creditor remedies, loan servicing litigation, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, and financial services defense matters across jurisdictions.
Attorneys in this role lead litigation strategy, supervise teams, and serve as primary client contacts on high-value matters. By year-end, you could be directing multi-state litigation, arguing contested motions, managing CMBS-related disputes, and strengthening client relationships with major financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Litigation - Commercial Attorney, you will:
• Lead and manage litigation teams in complex commercial matters in federal and state courts nationwide
• Represent financial institutions in workouts of non-performing commercial real estate loans
• Handle litigation and loan servicing matters related to commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS)
• Manage contested bankruptcy matters, including secured creditor litigation and related proceedings
• Oversee UCC sales and mezzanine loan enforcement actions
• Defend lenders in lender liability actions, including breach of contract and fraud claims
• Represent clients in arbitration proceedings, including AAA matters
• Represent title insurance companies in disputes involving fraudulent deeds and lien priority
• Advocate in commercial lease litigation for landlords and tenants

Qualifications
• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active bar admission in New York or ability to obtain promptly — NY Bar required
• 8+ years of complex commercial litigation experience
• Significant experience representing financial institutions, servicers, or lenders
• Strong background in commercial real estate litigation and secured creditor remedies
• Experience handling contested matters in both federal and state courts
• Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently and lead litigation teams
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and client management abilities
Preferred Experience
• CMBS and loan servicing litigation
• Distressed real estate and mezzanine loan enforcement
• Bankruptcy litigation related to secured lending
• Arbitration experience
• Title insurance litigation
