Day Shift We are currently seeking an experienced

Director of Nursing (DON)

for a 9-week contract assignment at a Skilled Nursing Facility in

Las Cruces, NM , with the possibility of extension. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong nursing leader who is passionate about quality care, regulatory excellence, and team development.

7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership and oversight of all nursing operations within the facility. Ensure compliance with CMS, state regulations, and facility standards of care. Oversee staffing, scheduling, and performance management of nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs). Lead infection control, QAPI, and regulatory readiness initiatives. Collaborate with the Administrator, Medical Director, and interdisciplinary team. Monitor clinical documentation and ensure regulatory compliance. Support staff education, training, and professional development. Address resident and family concerns professionally and timely.

Required Qualifications

Active

RN license in New Mexico

(or compact license, if applicable). 3–5 years

of nursing leadership experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or Long-Term Care setting. Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, surveys, and compliance standards. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience as a

Director of Nursing

in an SNF setting. Experience managing state surveys and regulatory inspections. Strong background in staff development and quality improvement.
