Full Time, Days, Monday - Friday: 07:00 AM- 3:30 PM with on call rotation Location

Job description The Surgical Technologist provides surgical care by applying sterile and aseptic techniques under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.

Duties/Responsibilities • Prepares for and performs appropriate age-specific surgical care to the patient population. • Provides appropriate intraoperative surgical care based on the patient's age and planned surgical procedure. • Adheres to the principles of aseptic practice. • Performs sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to policy. • Cares for surgical specimens and cultures. • Provides a safe environment for the surgical patient. • Observes environmental infection control practices. • Uses resources and equipment for patient care efficiently. • Performs action that demonstrates accountability.

Education Graduate of a program in surgical technology required.

Experience One year surgical technologist experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or Tech in Surgery - Certified (Surgery TS-C) through the National Center for Competency Testing within one year required.
