About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with United Health Care Staffing, Inc. to find a qualified Stepdown RN in Omaha, Nebraska, 68147!Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown / CVU (Day Shift)Location: Omaha, NebraskaJob Type: 13-Week Travel ContractOpen Positions: 5 Job Overview:We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses for a Cardiac Stepdown / CVU unit at a Level 1 Trauma acute care hospital. This unit cares for patients requiring intermediate cardiac care including post-CVICU patients and those with complex cardiovascular conditions. Nurses must be comfortable managing cardiac drips, telemetry monitoring, and caring for high-acuity cardiac patients. Unit Details:

Cardiac Vascular Unit (CVU)

18 beds

Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4 (1:3 for first 24 hours post-surgical patients)

Charting System: EPIC

Telemetry with remote monitor technicians (RNs interpret rhythms)

Respiratory Therapy and Intensivist available 24/7

Patient Population:Common diagnoses include:

Post CVICU step-down patients

Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)

Atrial Fibrillation with RVR

Cardiac and vascular conditions

Cath Lab and EP patients

Structural heart procedures

Stroke (CVA) patients

Key Responsibilities:

Provide intermediate cardiac care for step-down patients

Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms

Manage titratable cardiac drips

Perform patient assessments and medication administration

Collaborate with cardiology and multidisciplinary teams

Float to units with similar or lower acuity as required

Common Drips Managed:

Amiodarone

Nitro

Nicardipine

Epinephrine

Cardizem

Other blood pressure management drips
