Technical Chemist (South Holland)

Gurtler Industries is an ISO certified chemical manufacturer focused on the professional rental-textile industry. Being a leader in our market-space, and as a result of continued growth and increasing market share, a full-time position has opened within the Technical Support laboratory.

This hands-on, first shift position will be actively involved in evaluating many facets of textile performance and life-cycle longevity. The core responsibilities will include textile analyses and life cycle assessments to support the professional launderer and their interests in resource sustainability. Through textile testing and garment laundering studies, you will assist others in root-cause analysis and problem resolution. Additional opportunities conducting product performance evaluation of formulated laundry detergents to support the textile industry are anticipated. Working with other team members, you will interact in the laboratory setting conducting principle wet-chemistry and textile-performance testing. The ability to articulately communicate both verbally and in document preparation are key skill requirements, as are the ability to trouble-shoot and think independently.

The ideal candidate will possess a BA/BS in the physical sciences. Computer aptitude. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (WORD & EXCEL). Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate are paramount to your success. Previous experience in a laboratory setting are beneficial. Military veterans are encouraged to apply.
