Molecular Biologist (Chesterfield)

Job Title : Molecular Biologist Location : St.Louis MO Pay range : $25 - $32/hour Contract : 1 year

Position Overview: We are seeking a Molecular Biologist to join our dynamic team in support of product development in plant biotechnology. We encourage candidates with diverse molecular biology backgrounds to apply, as we value the ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of molecular biology (specifically DNA manipulations) and automation experience.

Key Responsibilities: DNA Molecular Biology: o Basic molecular skills: DNA preps, digests, ligations, electroporation, DNA transformations, PCR o Follow DNA cloning instructions with oversight from lab personnel o Potential to design and troubleshoot alternative cloning approaches o High-throughput DNA cloning reactions o Works methodically and with attention to detail

Automation and Instrumentation: o Ability to learn automation programs routine to streamline workflows o Troubleshoot automation errors with guidance Laboratory Operations: o Manage inventory and ordering of laboratory consumables as well as maintain organization of workspaces

o Ensure compliance with safety and waste disposal protocols and represent the team in company-wide initiatives o Laboratory support in compliance with ISO 9001 and Safety standards

Qualifications: · BS with 1-3 years' experience in molecular biology. . · Broad understanding of instrumentation and scientific principles related to molecular biology. · Ability to learn quickly and be coached in new techniques and processes. · Ability to assist in experimental design and participate in moderate to extensive problem-solving that requires original thought. · Works independently with minimal supervision, while still seeking guidance when necessary.
