CAD Designer (6-Month Contract-to-Hire)

This role is initially

onsite

in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, with the potential to transition to a

hybrid schedule (one day remote per week)

after a successful ramp-up period.

About the Role:

You will play a crucial role in conceptualizing, designing, and communicating effectively using CAD software to current industry standards. You'll be responsible for maintaining design archives, scaling drawings for shop use, and ensuring projects are meticulously organized for efficient access.

Key Responsibilities: Perform a wide range of diverse drafting tasks. Prepare precise plans, layouts, as-builts, and detailed technical drawings. Apply in-depth knowledge of building codes, develop intricate details, and organize comprehensive construction documents. Revise existing drawings and accurately correct as-built documentation. Conceptualize, design, and effectively communicate technical concepts using CAD software, adhering to current industry standards. Maintain meticulous design and drawing archives, including revision history. Scale drawings precisely for shop production. Organize project folders to ensure easy and fast access. Apply technical design knowledge and best practices to accomplish drafting assignments. Create new drawings and expertly edit existing ones.

What You'll Bring: 2-3 years of proven experience in a CAD Designer role. Proficiency in CAD software (specific software skills will be assessed via a CAD test). Demonstrated knowledge of building codes. Experience with 2D drafting. Familiarity with scaling and basic CAD commands (hot keys). Ability to establish data link connections between Excel and AutoCAD. Strong organizational skills, including managing project folders and drawing archives. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Nice to Haves (Bonus Points If You Have): Ability to read and interpret floor plans. Strong sense of responsibility and punctuality. Experience in the telecommunications industry.

Compensation & Benefits: Competitive pay rate of up to $28/hour. Full-time, 12-month contract with potential for extension or direct conversion based on performance and business needs.
